We asked Jane Morgan, personal chef and very cool friend of Fur, to make us a cocktail inspired by Fur's signature chartreuse color. And reader, she delivered. Read on for her take on a summery margarita that's just the right amount of minty, bright, and above all, festive:

Green margarita surrounded by plants

If you’re anything like me, summer is all about finding the most refreshing drink possible, and sipping it outside with friends every chance you get for the foreseeable humid future. This summer, my drink of choice is a turmeric mint margarita I developed that brings together everything I’m looking for in a cocktail: it’s super tart, grounded in a rich turmeric flavor, and honestly tastes kind of like juice. Some added bonuses are the bright chartreuse color that looks so good in your favorite pitcher or glasses, and the fact that turmeric is anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial, so it’s great for treating any dryness or irritation in our skin and hair. I love using it for some added brightness and depth in my drinks and food.

Next time you’re planning a roof party or sitting in the sun with friends, double or triple this recipe to make a sunny pitcher of my signature summer drink (and invite me!).

Turmeric Mint Margarita

Serves two.

Ingredients

—3 oz. tequila (I used La Gritona–it’s a great tequila and comes in a chartreuse bottle that can be repurposed when you’re finished!)

—3 oz. fresh lime juice, plus more lime wedges for serving

—1.5 oz. agave

—Splash of sparkling water (Topo Chico is truly the best)

—1/2 tsp. ground turmeric (my favorite is Diaspora Co single-origin turmeric)

—Fresh mint leaves

Margarita ingredients

    Preparation

Step One: On a plate or in a bowl, use the back of a wooden spoon to muddle a small handful of mint leaves (or use a mortar and pestle if you have it!).

Step Two: Add muddled mint leaves, tequila, lime juice, agave, and turmeric to a cocktail shaker and shake very well to combine. If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, add ingredients to a large glass or pitcher and stir vigorously with a wooden spoon.

Step Three: Strain and pour into two glasses.

Step Four: Top with a splash of your favorite sparkling water, garnish with more mint leaves and a lime wedge, and enjoy!
