  • General Manager of FurProfessionals.com

    This role will report directly to CEO Laura Schubert and the Executive Leadership Team. It will encompass many varied activities, so it’s essential that the person can roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty as we scale our brand significantly over the next few years. Most importantly, this person must be passionate about the Fur brand and our mission to destigmatize body hair. 

     

    Role & Responsibilities

    This person will act as the General Manager of our Professionals business, our wholesale channel for estheticians, beauty professionals, and retail stores. Performance will be measured against specific revenue and profitability milestones for this channel. This is your chance to take a business that has strong early traction and build it up to even further heights!

     

    Our professionals business is conducted through our gated website furprofessionals.com. The Pros GM would oversee a team of 1-3 people with strategic priorities to increase the number of pros with accounts on furprofessionals.com as well as serve and grow our existing accounts. Some examples of these tactical activities may include:


    Attract new FurPros:

    —Create and execute roadmap for expanding paid digital marketing efforts 

    —Engage with relevant communities and forums including salons, spas, schools, and aestheticians

    —Build out referral and loyalty programs

    Serve & grow existing FurPros:

    —Design marketing campaigns for FurPros email, social media, and other relevant channels 

    —Strengthen community and increase engagement on our private FurPros Instagram and other platforms 

    —Create materials and other content to help our pros market products and build a better business

    —Improve the furprofessionals.com website in terms of functionality, product offerings, and content

    —Innovatively collaborate with other brands to expand offering for FurPros

     

    Key Skill Sets

    Candidates should be comfortable and highly competent at identifying strategic value and creating / implementing plans that capture that value. Strong strategic analytical skills are a must—applicants should love analyzing data in Excel to draw out key implications for our business. They are a flexible, creative self starter and problem solver who wants to build a business. They thrive in a fast paced environment and are an effective time manager and extremely driven and hardworking. They have exceptional attention to detail. They are an exceptional communicator, to the Founders, the team, partners, our customers and community. They have experience leading teams to deliver strategic goals while building camaraderie and community. They have a bachelor's degree and perhaps an MBA (must know their way around P&L and Balance Sheets). They preferably have both a background in strategy consulting and experience founding and/or scaling a DTC brand.

  • Chief of Staff

    As Fur continues to rapidly grow, a Chief of Staff will be critical to transitioning Fur from a small startup to a highly strategic, scalable business. This role will act as an extension and thought partner to the CEO and CMO, and will report directly to the Executive Leadership Team, providing strategic support across ongoing business processes as well as independently running ad hoc projects. Projects may include evaluating new distribution opportunities, overseeing subscription programs, vetting contractor proposals and new hires, etc, so it’s essential that this person should be highly adaptable to the extremely fluid nature of small businesses, especially given the unpredictable times. Most importantly, this person must be passionate about the Fur brand and our mission to destigmatize body hair.

     

    Role & Responsibilities

    The major responsibility of this person will be project management both operationally and in revenue driving capacities. Currently, the Founders oversee all projects at Fur, we would like another set of hands who can oversee small sub teams and drive projects successfully to completion. This person must have the financial, operational and strategic skill set to understand the greater vision of our company so all projects build unswervingly towards our goals. Some examples of the kinds of projects this person might be responsible for include: 

    —Acting as GM for our pros business (increasing the number of accounts, serving and growing existing accounts)

    —Managing a small team towards improvement of our website

    —Coordinating firmwide marketing initiatives

    —Analyzing our marketing channels and their KPIs

    —Hiring and talent management

    —Evaluating business decisions with analytical rigor, including cleaning and/or creating data from existing platforms as necessary  

    —Facilitating projects between external contractors (e.g., developers) and internal teams; project manage timelines and provide effective, timely feedback

    —Creating and implementing repeatable processes across entire business but with a particular focus on results tracking

     

    Key Skill Sets

    Our ideal candidate is comfortable and highly competent at identifying strategic value and creating / implementing plans that capture that value. Strong strategic analytical skills are a must, with solid Excel modeling capabilities; knowledge of R, Alteryx, Tableau, or other programs a plus. They are highly dynamic and flexible, and able to pivot and reprioritize quickly. They thrive in a fast paced environment and are an effective time manager and extremely driven and hardworking. They are an exceptional communicator, both to the Founders, the team, contractors and vendors, and able to inspire change and drive insights across a highly busy team. They have experience leading teams to deliver strategic goals, and are highly organized, with long-term growth in mind. They have a bachelor's degree and perhaps an MBA (must know their way around P&L and Balance Sheets). They preferably have both a background in strategy consulting and experience founding and/or scaling a DTC brand, but is ideally a jack of all trades: they have an interest in and basic familiarity with all business functions, including but not limited to: customer insights, digital marketing, and operations. A passion for bath and beauty products is appreciated, although experience in the beauty industry is not required.
