  • Retail Account Manager

    The Retail Account Manager will manage all day-to-day activities for Fur across beauty-focused retailers (e.g., Ulta, Bluemercury, Credo), Department Stores (e.g., Nordstrom, Macy’s), Wax Studios (e.g., Waxing the City, Miniluxe) and online-only retailers (e.g., Skinstore, Dermstore). This position will support performance of brick & mortar locations and dotcoms through planning and execution of trade marketing calendars, sampling strategy and allocation, merchandising, event coordination and execution, communication with field, partnership with account buying teams and internal cross functional teams. The candidate must also be able to provide in-depth analysis on sell-in, retail sales, seasonal programs and events and present to senior management. This person will report to the Head of Sales and Business Development.


    —Develop and execute 360-degree go-to-market strategy for brick & mortar and the online businesses to ensure company retail sales targets are met and exceeded and budgets are met, while respecting brand integrity

    —Gather and build weekly, monthly and annual retail sales reports, complete data analysis and provide meaningful insight and recommendations

    —Execute and track launch strategies for new products to maximize sell-in and sell-through opportunities

    —Communicate logistics & launches with retail partners (e.g., Ulta, Nordstrom), including new retailer onboarding (filling out line sheets, gathering assets, reading through routing guides) and general account management

    —Manage retailer specific marketing requests (assets, copy, visual merchandising needs) and communicate with marketing and creative teams through approval process execution

    —Be the liaison between demand planning, operations and field team

    —Partner with Head of Business Development on budgets and management of allocations by account for marketing and sampling opportunities; track and report on sampling and promotional spend by account

    Qualifications and Experience

    —At least 3 years of experience in sales of branded prestige beauty products in North America territory

    —Understanding of the beauty business and experience of working with prestige cosmetic brands, preferably with Department stores, multi-chain retailers and/or preferably independent Wax/Spa Studios

    —Previous experience in account management, operations, or product development / sourcing encouraged 

    —Excellent strategic planning, analytical and organizational skills 

    —Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as analytical and problem solving skills

    —Experience with Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas) and basic Google applications (e.g., Sheets, Slides) required

    —Experience with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) or retailer logistics platforms (e.g. EDI, Tradestone) a plus

    —Self-starter who can work independently with minimal direction towards the collective goal of building a business
