How to Make a Fur-jito

The sun is out and we’ve officially defrosted. It’s time to recharge in the sun with Kacey Musgraves on and a bev in hand. Something about summer always feels nostalgic yet freeing. Living in swimsuits and not caring where my hair has grown. But before we pick up that seltzer let’s try something new, the Fur-jito.

This drink was inspired by all the summer feels. It has your typical Mojito ingredients, but with a Fur twist, of course.

What you’ll need:
-8-10 mint leaves
-2 ounces light rum
-1 lime quartered
-Pomegranate juice
-Soda Water

Start with a Collins glass and add a generous amount of mint sprigs. Take your muddler or a wooden spoon and muddle the mint by pressing it lightly. Quarter your lime and add to muddle - this will ensure you get all the juices and antioxidants from the lime. Once you’ve got a good base, pick your preferred rum, I like an unaged rum to keep the freshness, then stir.

Next, add ice, top with soda water, and a float of pomegranate juice. Garnish with a mint sprig and enjoy. The lime and mint already contain a great source of antioxidants; topping it off with pomegranate juice not only gives added flavor but it helps reduce inflammation so you don’t wake up puffy.
