Fur’s mission has always been to provide comfort and care for everyone: that means all skin types, all hair types, and all genders. With all that’s going on in the U.S. and the world in general, it’s more important than ever to take pride in yourself and your identity—but it’s also more important than ever to take care of yourself. So with that in mind, for this year’s Pride month we're celebrating a few incredible NYC based people in the LGBTQ+ community, and learning more about how they take care and take pride all year round.
Tell us a little about yourself!
My name is P.S.Kaguya or Kaguya, and some just call me DiDi. I'm a Cancer but Leo cusp, and my pronouns are she/her. I’m a full time artist, model and boss bitch.
What’s your favorite song at the moment?
"Project X" by Leftcheek, Rightcheek & Tiny Twinz.
What’s your go to skincare trick?
I use toothpaste for spot treatments still! Asides from that, moisturizing for face PLUS neck!
What’s your go to haircare trick?
Thermal protection is key—and hair masks!
What’s the one thing you used to do to your hair or skin when you were younger, but would never consider doing now?
I used to spray Sun-In on my hair when I went to the beach! I wanted colored hair so bad. And I used to sleep with my makeup on for days.. it was bad and not cute.
Do you use hair as a form of expression? If so, how?
Definitely! My hair color changes due to it fading and I like to spice things up. Gives me variety to play with for looks. I am pretty hairless on my body but I don't mind letting it grow out for a month or two. Shaving isn't a mandatory thing for me either way its just a convenience.
What does self-care mean to you, and how essential is it to your every day wellbeing?
Self-care for me can be a lot of things! Spending time with close loved ones—and not necessarily blood-related but family—or staying inside with my hair down without any make up on with just a t-shirt on, and cleaning/organizing. My space means everything to me. It's where I rest and work, so it's always a constant chaos, but she's getting there.
